Why I say Merry Christmas vs. Happy Holidays

I know it's the new year but I got some 2011 Christmas beef y'all.

On Christmas Day I just happened to read some of my Facebook feeds and a lot of them said things like (paraphrasing here): 'I can't believe people still celebrate the Jesus part of Christmas. This isn't the Dark Ages...

That upset me!

I mean, I don't celebrate the Jesus part either BUT I think everyone has the right to celebrate the Christmas holidays however they want without ridicule. The way I see it is you celebrate your way, I'll celebrate my way and we shouldn't bother each other about how it should be celebrated.

If you're really bothered by how members of the human race celebrate the holidays then create some unbiased awareness. At least you'll may help someone see your point of view versus making them feel bad about their traditions.

Just saying!

Anyway, now that I'm done ranting, I'll exlain why I say Merry Christmas vs. Happy Holidays. When I say Merry Christmas, I'm showing you what I believe in. That's it. I only say Happy Holidays at work because that's what the employer wants.

So I'll end with a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
